Sharing Stories, Strength & Connection

The display shares the story of the Chinese community in Sheffield — from the first recorded Chinese person living here in 1855, to the many families who call the city home today.

Created through cross-generation workshops, Changing Seasons brings together family stories, art, music and shared meals, celebrating care, kindness and community.

The display opens on 20 February with a lively lion dance celebration to mark Chinese Lunar New Year. Everyone is invited to join in the lion parade, and families can enjoy free arts and crafts activities throughout the day.

You’ll find Changing Seasons in the Sheffield Life and Times Gallery at Weston Park Museum, where it will remain on display for two years.

Bring the whole family and join the celebration.

Come along and celebrate Changing Seasons, a bright and welcoming display for children, families and visitors of all ages.
